Manager of Engineering


Position Overview:
This position will participate in all phases of the multi-project management process, including hiring, scheduling, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating both engineering staff and multiple in-house and outside wireless projects as needed. Responsibilities also include project consultation using technical expertise, business development, client interaction, and other various duties as needed.

The Project Manager guides projects to successful completion while producing satisfied customers, maintaining profit margin and facilitating team growth. The Project Manager is accountable for establishing and achieving project goals through the efficient use and development of available resources, planning tools and opportunities. Directly accountable for the completion of the established project goals by insuring tasks and client deliverables are accomplished within the defined time frame and budget parameters.


Essential Job Functions:

Project Management:

  • Responsible for Personnel Management including, supervising incumbent Junior and Senior level RF Engineers
  • Coordinates staff schedules, project planning and schedules, and logistical information for multiple in-house and national wireless projects as assigned
  • Completes administrative duties including, approving and submitting incumbent’s bi-monthly time and expense sheets to Accounting Department
  • Assists in the hiring process as well as semi-annual employee performance evaluations
  • Schedules on-site visits to eWS Engineers working at external client locations
  • Lead multidiscipline teams to successful project completion.
  • Provide direction and address issues for project team members, understanding their unique, and complimentary roles, interdependencies and responsibility of each within the project framework. General responsibility for the Project Office.
  • Direct activities of project staff to outline work plan and coordinate assigned duties, responsibilities and schedule to ensure project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget
  • Work within a budget and maintain team flexibility and cohesiveness in response to aggressive time schedules within a fast paced, potentially changing environment.
  • Create strong customer relations and communication including negotiations and delivery of services.



Business Development:

  • Maintains client relations including scheduling personal site visits and regular phone contact.
  • Assist Business Development Department during the RFP process and development of contracts related to projects.
  • Interpret contracts, communicate scope of work and develop schedule forecast and Project Execution Plan.
  • Travels for Company business including, meetings, trainings, conventions, and site visits
  • Assists in contract negotiations
  • Technical Expertise/ Application:
  • Provides technical information/troubleshooting for field teams and in-house Engineers
  • Project Proposal Preparation
  • Assist with technical material for updating eWS’ website
  • Assist in industry trade shows such as: CTIA


Education and Experience

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Communications/ Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering. 
  • 10-12 years of related Engineering/Management experience
  • Project management experience with Wireless systems including, system design and optimization, data collection and analysis, and Technology Evaluation and Network Planning
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of Interconnect and System Components such as: BTS, BSC, and MSC
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of Propagation and Field Measurement Tools
  • Profound knowledge of wireless industry standards
